Stratus Variable Frequency AC Fan Speed Control for Motors, Fans and Pumps

The SmartFan Stratus variable frequency AC Fan Speed Control drive is an economical, yet highly versatile drive that provides precise variable speed control of single- and three-phase AC motors for fans, motors and pumps. A typical VFD drive is compatible with more motors, can control to lower speeds, has a more linear control curve and is more energy efficient at reduced speeds than a TRIAC (voltage) based control. This microprocessor based VFD drive is ideal for applications including environmental control (temperature, humidity, pressure, flow), clean room pressurization, equipment cooling, exhaust ventilation and heating/air conditioning systems. On-board programming allows the setting of many parameters providing maximum flexibility. Special and custom variable speed control configurations are available.

Benefits of using SmartFan Stratus variable frequency AC Fan Speed Control drive include acoustical noise reduction, environmental (humidity, temperature or pressure) regulation, greater product reliability, increased fan life, improved safety and energy savings
.

CAUTION: SmartFan AC motor speed controls are designed for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and are not intended for end-user or after-market applications. SmartFan AC motor speed controls should only be used with compatible induction motors: Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) or Shaded Pole. All AC motors must be approved by the motor manufacturer or thoroughly validated prior to use. Attempting to control a fan or motor that is not compatible could cause excessive heating and/or permanent damage to the motor.

The use of Inverter duty grade motors is highly recommended when using a VFD. To avoid bearing pitting and insulation breakdown on motors that are not inverter grade, the use of a LC filter connected to the output of the VFD is required.
